If you are in the mood and feeling house with early roots in soul and funk, Alton is a true legend of the scene. Alton is is an American, Detroit-based DJ, producer, singer, and percussionist, as well as a pioneer of Detroit house music. Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit on Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic and the Philly Sound. Alton began developing his deejaying skills under the electrifying energy of House Music founding fathers like Larry Levan, Timmy Regisford, and often found heading to Ron Hardy’s Music Box and Frankie Knuckles’s private loft parties in Chicago. Alton along with like-minded friends Chez Damier and George Barker, opened the legendary dance club, The Music Institute in Detroit in 1988. Alton has lived in Paris and South Africa, regularly touring countries including Japan, Australia, South Africa, Europe and New Zealand.
